We are actively seeking I.T. and Telecom technicians nationwide! This isn’t your typical I.T. Technician role. The work will range from installing operating systems on laptops to running cables through entire buildings, punching down phone lines, rebuilding 66 blocks, and more. You’ll encounter a wide range of tasks that will expand your knowledge in I.T. areas you may not be familiar with. Be ready to learn quickly!


Our clients are looking for techs who are experienced with PCs and printers, so if you have that experience, it’s a plus!


Requirements:

  • Vehicle required – must have a personal vehicle, as public transportation cannot be used.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in I.T. or Telecom and one of the following certifications:
    • A+
    • Network+
    • OR 5 years of verifiable I.T. or Telecom experience
  • Printer experience is preferred but not required.
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
  • Basic computer maintenance and networking tools.
  • Laptop with Ethernet capability (MUST have).
  • Available for 24/7 on-call work (flexible scheduling, we work with you).
  • Smartphone with hotspot capability (MUST have).
  • Punctuality and professionalism are essential when dealing with clients.

Compensation:

  • Paid hourly while on-site.
  • 1099 contractor (contract position with potential for W2).
  • Travel pay provided for a 60-mile radius from your location (commute time tracked via app).
  • Pay depends on experience level: Base Level One is $18-$25 per hour.
  • Flexible on-call schedule.

Level 1 IT Field Technician (Entry-Level)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides on-site basic support for end-user issues, such as setting up computers, installing software, and troubleshooting minor hardware issues.
  • Handles simple network setup tasks (e.g., connecting devices to the network or configuring basic routers and switches).
  • Supports standard hardware repairs and software installations, as well as resolving common issues like printer setup, computer boot failures, and peripheral issues.
  • Works primarily with predefined solutions or scripts, under supervision or alongside more experienced technicians.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Basic technical knowledge of hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, networking equipment) and software.
  • Understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS) and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with basic network configurations (e.g., IP addresses, wireless setup, DNS).
  • Can follow checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for common issues.

Experience Level:

  • Typically 0-2 years of field experience or training in IT.

Tools:

  • Basic diagnostic tools, cable testers, multimeter (for hardware), and remote desktop software.

Level 2 IT Field Technician (Mid-Level)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handles more complex onsite troubleshooting and repairs that require higher technical expertise than Level 1.
  • Resolves issues involving network configuration, more advanced hardware problems (e.g., motherboard failures, server issues), and software compatibility.
  • Provides support for more complex network infrastructure, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Installs and configures more advanced IT systems like server hardware, business-level networking solutions, or workstations.
  • Often works on project-based assignments, including system installations, network upgrades, and server migrations.
  • Escalates complex issues to Level 3, but often provides support for service calls requiring diagnostics and system optimizations.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of networks, including IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and wireless access points.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, including diagnosing system failures, and network connectivity problems.
  • Experience with business applications and software installations that require more than basic setup (e.g., office suites, VPN setups).
  • Ability to handle server setup and maintain IT infrastructure, including hardware replacements, network configuration, and OS installation.

Experience Level:

  • Typically 2-5 years of field experience, with some specialized training in networking or systems.

Tools:

  • Advanced diagnostic equipment, network analyzers, configuration management tools, server installation tools, and mobile field support tools.

Level 3 IT Field Technician (Senior/Expert-Level)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handles the most complex, high-priority issues requiring expert-level technical knowledge.
  • Installs and configures enterprise-level systems, networks, and security solutions, such as advanced server setups, data center management, and complex network infrastructures.
  • Provides expert-level onsite support for critical incidents and performs advanced diagnostics (e.g., resolving system outages, fixing large-scale network issues).
  • Manages complex IT projects, including deployments of new technologies or company-wide upgrades and migrations.
  • Works directly with vendors and service providers for large-scale issues and system solutions.
  • May train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians and be the primary escalation point for technical issues.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Advanced expertise in specific technologies (e.g., networking, security, cloud services, virtualization).
  • Deep understanding of enterprise network architecture, IT security, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Can design and implement complex IT infrastructures and resolve highly technical issues related to server configuration, data storage, or network security.
  • Possesses expertise in systems integration, critical hardware repairs, and network optimizations.

Experience Level:

  • Typically 5+ years of experience in the IT field, with advanced certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.).

Tools:

High-end diagnostic tools, enterprise-level network management tools, specialized equipment for complex systems, and troubleshooting software.
